Job Description

San Jose design center is leading R&D and product development capabilities within Skyworks and is seeking dedicated and experienced Validation Engineering talents with strong technical and interpersonal skills to be part of a dynamic engineering community, leading product evaluation during rapid product development cycle. You will have an active engagement with the Design, Systems, Product, and Test Development and Applications teams. Our Validation Engineering team plays a key role in ensuring the outstanding performance and quality of our cutting-edge RF Front-end (RFFE) products. You will own and lead the overall RF performance evaluation and trouble-shooting activities of our high-performance RFFE modules in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. We are located in the heart of San Jose which is the technical capital of the Silicon Valley where all the most cutting-edge inventions and next-generation product development are taking place, shaping the U.S., the global economy and the world.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Create test plans for on-going product development. Test items include but not limited to: Linearity (IMD, P1dB, ACLR; EVM, SEM, etc.); Harmonics; Load/Source-pull; Noise; Stability; Ruggedness; S-parameter.
  • Collaborate with team members and execute DVT tests over process, voltage and temperature. Analyze test result and feedback to design team in timely manner to drive design improvement.
  • Drive full regression test activities for each engineering sample milestone.
  • Trouble-shoot test hardware and software issues.
  • Implement and verify product final characterization test plan.
  • Interfacing design team and product team to define ATE test items, driving DVT to ATE correlation. Work cross-functionally from the initial phase of the product development to final production.
  • Maintain test bench correlation.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Solid RF fundamental knowledge (in particular: PA; LNA; Duplexer; RF switches). Familiarity with 5G/4G/3G/2G cellular standards.
  • Familiar with RF measurement and equipment (Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Digitizer, Signal Generator, Tuner, Power Meter, Oscilloscope, etc.)
  • Good troubleshooting skills. Collaborative problem solver.
  • Capability to operate in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary environment, and adhere to project schedules.
  • BSEE + 2 years experience or MSEE

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Programming skills (C/C++/Matlab/Python or equivalent) is highly desired.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $76,100 - $138,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
