Description
Accounting Manager – Singapore is responsible for overseeing local accounting, statutory reporting, as well as proving support for tax compliance, and internal control activities for Skyworks Singapore and Malaysia entities. This role serves as the primary accounting lead in Singapore and acts as the key liaison between local operations and the US corporate accounting team. The position ensures compliance with Singapore and Malaysia accounting standards and regulations while aligning local reporting with US GAAP and corporate policies.
Responsibilities
- Manage full‑scope accounting operations for the Singapore and Malaysia entities, including month-end close, year end close, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and confirmations as needed.
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting to US Corporate in accordance with group close schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all local statutory and regulatory requirements such as GST and SST reportings and returns, ACRA and CCM filings, as well as withholding taxes.
- Prepare and review annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and coordinate with external auditors on annual statutory audits.
- Support corporate tax team on tax filings/assessments and regulatory submissions.
- Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany compliance in collaboration with US corporate teams.
- Maintain and enforce internal controls in accordance with corporate policies and SOX.
- Identify process improvements and control enhancements to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Support global finance initiatives, system implementations, and process harmonization efforts.
- Manage and develop local accounting staff (if applicable), including performance management and coaching.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to local business leaders, providing accounting guidance and financial insights.
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification preferred (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent).
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for local statutory accounting in Singapore.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GST and Singapore corporate tax
- Experience working with or reporting to US‑based corporate teams.
- Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and financial reporting under tight deadlines.
Desired Experience and Skills
- Experience in a multinational or US‑headquartered company.
- Familiarity with US GAAP and SOX/internal control frameworks.
- Prior experience managing audits and working with large public accounting firms.
- System experience, preferably SAP (ERP), Concur and Blackline
- Experience in working with IT team to get the company’s system ready for Singapore’s GST InvoiceNow requirement.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of local accounting matters
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface confidently with US senior finance stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
