The RF Mixed-Signal Intelligence Solutions team in Ottawa is developing wireless integrated circuit components and has a challenging opportunity for a student available for a 12-month work term. The successful candidate will report to a senior engineering mentor assigned. The ideal student will be required to apply sound engineering skills to a variety of tasks and project assignments in the area of semiconductor test and electronic design. Must be available to work onsite from May 2027 to April 2028.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the research and development of advanced RF integrated circuits and modules in the area of wireless technology.
The role primarily focuses on conducting lab tests on RF circuits and presenting/interpreting measurement data. The successful candidate may also be involved in circuit simulation, presenting design results, and participating in design reviews.
Assist in new product engineering and design activities.
Assist team members with their project assignments.
Completion of assignments of various degrees of complexity, ranging from RF/analog test, data analysis, documentation, etc.

Required Experience and Skills

Students must be enrolled in College or University for the full duration of the position
Experience with RF lab equipment, including oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum/signal analyzer, VNA, etc.
Basic knowledge of RF / analog circuits, such as PAs, LNAs, and switches, etc.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic
Must be willing to work in a hands-on environment
Must have strong time management skills
Good communication, organization, and documentation skill

 

The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
