Facility Maintenance Technician 3

Summary

We are looking for someone to join the facilities organization at our Woburn, MA location who can complement our talented team of technicians. We utilize a team approach to enable each employee to enhance their talents and learn new skill-sets. You will be joining a team of technician with diverse capabilities and tenure reporting to the Facilities Section Manager.

Responsibilities

In this role, your primary responsibilities will be to ensure the safe and predictable performance of infrastructure by monitoring and documenting of infrastructure critical parameters, identifying and addressing opportunities, performing various preventative and predictive maintenance tasks as well as general building maintenance upkeep. Responsibilities also include preparation and coordination of materials procurement associated with your work activities.

Activities will include:

• Work safety and following established safety procedures.
• Compliance inspections
• Comprehending the operation of Facilities Systems and their impact on the manufacturing operation.
• Monitoring key control limits of Facilities Systems throughout the facility and effectively escalate system failures or anomalies to designated contacts along with a plan to correct.
• Organizing and coordinating the resources needed to restore or repair Facility Systems to their operating limits.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers to maintain and/or build trust.
• 5S program support

Skills

The ideal candidate will:

• Be self-motivated and possess a “continuous learning/improvement” mindset to learn new approaches, tools, and methodologies.
• Make mistakes – and learn from them
• Possess an understanding of HVAC systems & controls, plumbing, electrical, process piping and have proficiency in at least one trade
• Hold or be capable of obtaining a Grade 1 Waste Water Treatment License within the first 6 months of employment.
• Be capable of wearing PPE commensurate with all facilities related duties (i.e. full-face respirator, etc;).
• Detail oriented
• Have analytical problem-solving skills to be able to identify the root cause of difficult technical and non-technical problems, be capable of analyzing alternate approaches and developing practical solutions to solve complex technical and non-technical problems
• Be collaborative and work well in a team
• Have strong communication skills
• Be able to perform in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED

2-4 years of experience

Additional Requirements

Physical. A Facilities Technician should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20lbs. of force constantly to move objects
Working Conditions; May require outside work, climbing, lifting and working in cramped areas.

Once you join Skyworks, the first 4-6 weeks of employment will take place M-F 8:30 am- 5:00 pm for department training.
