Material Analyst Intern

Job Description 

Inventory control and management will be your focus as a materials analyst. You may also be responsible for tracking inventory trends, discovering ways to save money, and maintaining consistency in material quality. You may be required to handle inventory for production or inventory of products to be shipped to customers. 

Material analysts use software systems to design material and supply movement plans for companies. Predict and track customer product demand and develop productivity improvement proposals.  

Aspiring materials analysts must have excellent communication, organization, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and familiarity with computer and materials management software, such as SAP. 

The Materials Analyst will work to streamline the New Product Introduction for the DAS business unit. This professional will oversee the acquisition, distribution, allocation, delivery, and resource disposal of materials. She/he will keep stakeholders communicated on material status across the BU. 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Manage the MRP system and all inventory and resources 
  • Oversee the acquisition, distribution, allocation, delivery, and resource disposal. 
  • Direct availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products. 
  • Analyze and coordinate logistical functions related to the organization’s assigned product(s). 
  • Maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to a logistics activity. 
  • Plan, organize, and execute logistics support activities such as maintenance planning, repair analysis, and test equipment recommendations. 

Required Skills 

  • Students Pursuing a career in Business, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.  
  • Good problem-solving skills. 
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Ability to work with limited supervision. 
  • Must be able to function in an ambiguous environment and multi-task when needed. 
  • Experience with ERP system management (SAP). 
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment/production floor. 

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
