Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Field Applications Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative organization. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the semiconductor industry, possess strong leadership skills, and demonstrate a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. The position will report to the Director of Fields Applications for the Americas.
Location: Role is based in the Eastern US. Skyworks has a office in Woburn, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
- Territory/Product Coverage: Responsibility for Skyworks full broad market product portfolio (RF, Timing and Power Isolation), and customers in the Eastern US region.
- Customer Problem Solving: Collaborate with sales counterparts and the engineering team to understand customer requirements, provide technical expertise, and develop solutions to meet customer needs.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, understanding their challenges, and ensuring effective communication between the engineering team and customers.
- Technical Expertise: Use Skyworks product and customer architecture expertise to drive design wins. Maintain a deep understanding of the semiconductor industry, market trends, and emerging technologies.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective resource allocation, and adherence to quality standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including business units and marketing, to drive product development ensuring Skyworks roadmaps meet or exceed customer needs.
- Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish performance metrics, monitor individual and team performance, provide regular feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of relevant work experience in the semiconductor industry, with a focus on field applications engineering.
- Strong technical expertise in semiconductor devices, hands on knowledge of RF communications, Timing products (Clocks, Clock Generators and Jitter attenuators) and Power Isolation (e.g. Industrial drive motors, EV fast chargers, Power supplies).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to identify market trends and customer needs.
- Collaboration with sales on strategic account planning for top customer accounts.
- Participation in promotion seminars, trade shows and make presentation to customers.
- Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and deliver results.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of working with high-performing teams.
- Ability to travel as required to meet with customers, attend industry events and visit internal sites.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
