Job Summary


The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration and communication of the company’s U.S. benefit programs including health and welfare, life and disability, retirement and other benefits in a shared services environment. The position serves as the resource for employees on benefits and other inquiries. This position works closely with the Senior Benefits Manager and will collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal and Risk.  This position reports to the Manager, Global Services.



  • Administers and communicates the company's U.S. benefit programs (including medical, dental, vision, life and disability) in regard to plan options, policy features, enrollment and other requirements
  • Assists employees with benefit related inquiries and responds to employee service needs such as document requests and benefits administration
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of benefits and answers employee inquiries pertaining to programs, processes, procedures and communications.
  • Collaborates with payroll and vendors on administration, reporting, analysis, evidence of insurability and beneficiaries
  • Manages 401K (wires, match, loans, rollovers, testing/5500s, hardships), non-qualified plan and participates in annual filings and audits
  • Triages questions and issues about benefit programs, policies and other related items and provides timely, courteous and accurate support in resolution of questions
  • Tracks monthly benefit costs, audits vendor bills and facilitates payment and reporting
  • Maintains records related to human resources activities, policy changes or additions
  • Assists in the development and ongoing maintenance of processes and procedures to improve upon the overall operational effectiveness and efficiency of the function
  • Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws
  • Conducts ad hoc analysis and reporting and other duties as required


Qualifications/Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification or equivalent preferred)
  • Minimum of five years benefits related experience
  • Experience with BenefitFocus and/or SAP, Employee Central or other similar ERP a plu
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of California Leave of Absence laws a plus
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Some travel may be required
