Job Description

Equipment Engineer for Factory Automation, focused on Fault Detection & Classification (FDC) projects. The candidate who fills this role will install and setup FDC systems to directly communicate to manufacturing tools, for the purpose of collecting and monitoring equipment process data over time. This role is a central component to the Skyworks Automation initiative in Woburn and has the ability to substantially and directly contribute to improving overall factory performance (reducing defects, improving yields, improving equipment availability and uptime, and reducing costs).

 

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the technical contact to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations, for issues and projects related to factory automation
  • Assists with defining requirements and procedures for automation interdiction on manufacturing equipment.
  • Installs Fault Detection & Classification (FDC) hardware, to connect manufacturing equipment to our FDC automation systems
  • Acts as the Automation Equipment lead in cross-discipline teams to evaluate, install, and connect ancillary sensors and hardware on manufacturing equipment directly to our FDC systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science or Engineering degree and a minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience supporting complex manufacturing equipment (theory of operation, tool performance diagnostics, tool performance optimization)
  • Knowledge of tool communication protocols like SECS would be ideal
  • Experience in the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Flexibility / able to understand multiple toolsets and all associated components
  • Collects and interprets data effectively.
  • Systematic approach towards problem solving.
  • Accountability and Ownership - Minimal supervision required, stays on top assignments.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Drive for skills continuous improvement
  • Team player, able to team up with all departments and/or individuals.
