Senior Principal Engineer:  Management of Compound Semiconductors Roadmap for RF Front-End Modules

Skyworks Solutions is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer responsible for the planning and execution of its compound semiconductor technology roadmap to support products used in 5G, Wifi and mmW infrastructure communication systems, such as RF front-ends modules for massive MIMO base stations, Wifi access points, mmW antenna arrays and satellite communication systems.

The candidate will be part of the Technology and Modeling Team within Skyworks Diversified Analog and Audio Solutions (DAAS) business unit, which is focused on the creation, delivery, and support of new technology platforms to the product development teams, including silicon and compound semiconductors, BAW filters, RF packaging, advanced modeling, and RF IP development.

The candidate will interface directly with marketing and product line managers, with application, design and systems engineers, as well as with process, device and modeling engineers to define a long term technology roadmap and ensure proper and timely execution. Tasks will include the definition of performance and cost targets, as well as schedule and critical milestones to support the product roadmap. The candidate will be responsible for the management of various technologies including GaAs HBT, PIN diodes, high power passives as well as GaN and GaAs HEMT. The position requires a holistic approach to technology development and will require accounting for sourcing, cost, design, qualification, reliability, yield, resources and schedule tradeoffs.

As the critical interface between the business unit and both the internal and external foundries, the candidate shall guide, influence and challenge both internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions on time and on budget. The position might also require a hands-on approach in term of simulation, layout and lab evaluation.

The candidate must have an in-depth working knowledge of III-V technologies and experience designing PA or LNAs in RF compound semiconductor technologies such as GaAs/InP HBT or GaN/GaAs HEMT. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned RF PA or LNA design engineer with a strong interest in technology development and co-optimization of semiconductor processes and product.

The candidate will report to the Senior Director of Technology and Modeling within Skyworks Diversified Analog and Audio Solutions (DAAS) Business Unit. The position will have one or more direct reports.
