Sr. Design Automation Engineer (PV, Extraction & Thermal Automation Engineer)
We are seeking a Physical Verification, Extraction & Thermal Automation Engineer to build scalable signoff methodologies and automation frameworks for advanced analog, mixed-signal, and RF technologies.
This role focuses on DRC/LVS automation, extraction workflows, thermal analysis infrastructure, and signoff productivity improvements. The successful candidate will help define the next generation of physical verification methodologies used across multiple customer engagements and product programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain physical verification and signoff automation workflows.
- Build methodology solutions for DRC, LVS, ERC, Parasitic extraction and Thermal analysis
- Automate signoff execution, data collection, debugging, and reporting.
- Develop custom rule execution and validation frameworks
- Create scalable flows around Quantus/QRC, Pegasus/PVS, Voltus and EM and thermal analysis platforms
- Improve runtime, capacity, and usability of signoff methodologies.
- Collaborate with layout, CAD, PDK, and product engineering teams.
- Create deployment-ready automation packages and documentation
- Support customers in flow adoption and issue resolution.
- Strong written communication for methodology documentation and cross-functional collaboration
Required Experience and Skills
- M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in physical verification, extraction, CAD methodology, or EDA applications engineering.
- Experience with DRC/LVS signoff methodologies, Quantus/QRC, Pegasus/PVS, Voltus
- Strong software development and scripting experience in Python, SKILL, Tcl, or Perl.
- Knowledge of thermal analysis concepts and extraction methodologies.
- Experience building automated engineering workflows.
- Strong experience working with design data management and revision control systems like Perforce, DesignSync, Git etc.
Desired Experience and Skills
- Experience supporting advanced node designs.
- Knowledge of RF layout verification methodologies.
- Experience with distributed computing, LSF, cloud execution, and workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and enterprise software development practices.
